The Mazda Cup returns to action tomorrow with 4 matches for the 5th round whilst the 5th match, the very exciting Salalah derby has unfortunately been postponed due to the bad weather to the 11th of November.
In the first group, Saham host Nahda at the Saham club stadium at 16:45. The hosts are in the most need of a win as they are at the bottom of the group having secured only 3 points from 4 matches. Nahda, who are second, will look to negotiate the tricky away fixture and get maximum points.
The other game sees Sohar host neighbours Khabourah. Sohar will look to keep the momentum going as they lead the group with 7 points while a win could be crucial for Khabourah, possibly propelling them to the top of the group.
In the second group, Musannah play Suwaiq at the Rustaq Sports stadium. The venue for the same has been decided because other stadiums are currently in preparation for National Day celebrations. Both teams are 2nd and 1st respectively in the group and win for either will only serve to strengthen their position at the top.
The other game is between Fanja and Shabab – who clashed in the OPL on Friday (an emphatic win for Fanja) and will be played on Wednesday. Both teams need the win badly with Fanja in a better position to compete for the group should they win it. Losing this match for Shabab reduce their chances in the competition significantly.
The Mazda Cup return once again with an exciting round of fixtures, we hope to see many fans at the game.
